Snapshots of Joy | Golden Rules Gal

Wedding photos evoke a celebration of love. For the newlyweds, they are sunshine for the soul: to be loved and cherished from this day forward. Giving photos as a wedding gift is unique. While the bride and groom will have their own wedding photographer, some of the most candid shots are taken by the guests.

1. Is it okay to give someone wedding photos as a gift? Whoever takes the best photo wins! You can have the best society photographer, but he/she may not capture the shot of your dreams. At my own wedding, our favorite photo was taken by one our guests. We used the shot for our Christmas card that year so everyone could share in the joy. Since a wedding photographer will capture many of the shots, it’s best to stick with photos of the bride and groom and with their close friends and family members.

2. In what situations is it not a good idea to give someone one of your wedding photos as a gift? Photos cost next to nothing, but the payout is huge. I can only think of positive reasons to give photos: they are everlasting; unique and thoughtful; have sentimental value; and an are a very tangible reminder of the wedding day.

A Brief Intermission

Dear Friends,

Even the most refined tables need a moment to reset, and so does this space. I’ll be taking a short pause until June 2nd as I fine-tune, refresh, and elevate things behind the scenes. Think of it as a well-mannered intermission; good etiquette includes knowing when to step back and return better than before.

Thank you for your patience. I look forward to welcoming you back with elegance, fresh insights, and timeless tips!

With gratitude and grace,
