9 Pool Party Rules | Golden Rules Gal

Whether you’re having a party in Las Vegas, Mykonos, or at home, take care of your guests in these ways:

1. Provide Pool Essentials.

The obvious is sunscreen, towels, food and beverage. Don’t forget to keep everybody hydrated with copious amounts of water. This cannot be overstated.

2. Pool Favors.

Gift bags will actually be used at a pool party if they include flip-flops, hats, and sunglasses.

3. Don’t Over-Serve.

Too much alcohol is normally a recipe for disaster, especially in the sun.

4. Serve Finger Foods.

When it’s hot, no one wants a hot meal, but guests should be well fed. Think salads, chips and dips, finger sandwiches, etc.

5. Provide Shade.

If it doesn’t exist or the parties are taking place, bring some umbrellas in case.

6. Pool and Pee.

You heard me. As part of your rules, remind everyone that the pool is used for solely swimming. This goes for kids and adults!

7. Provide a Lifeguard.

If children will be at the party, never leave them unattended. Sometimes the parents can turn their head for one minute and disaster can strike.

8. Don’t Forget the Pool Rules.

We all need reminders from time to time so it’s a good idea to either post them, laminate them, or make an announcement.

9. Don’t Leave Out Food to Be Spoiled.

Food can easily spoil in the sun, so either serve it and put it in coolers or take it in the house after consumption.

A Brief Intermission

Dear Friends,

Even the most refined tables need a moment to reset, and so does this space. I’ll be taking a short pause until June 2nd as I fine-tune, refresh, and elevate things behind the scenes. Think of it as a well-mannered intermission; good etiquette includes knowing when to step back and return better than before.

Thank you for your patience. I look forward to welcoming you back with elegance, fresh insights, and timeless tips!

With gratitude and grace,
