A Bridal Shower to Remember | Golden Rules Gal

I don’t know what made me remember this. Maybe because I’m writing this during my anniversary month, I thought about how lucky I’ve been to have a wonderful family and extended family. My aunt, Agnes, who hosted a bridal shower for me, had everyone ‘present’ me a note of advice. I thought it was archaic at the time, and I giggled when I read them aloud. But guess what? I never forgot them, and I use many to this day:

  1. Always come to breakfast with combed hair.
  2. Wear a dab of perfume on your neck.
  3. Kiss your husband good morning.
  4. Never go to bed angry.
  5. Wear lipstick.
  6. Agree to disagree.
  7. Never stress; it will make you sick.
  8. Think about your spouse before taking care of your own needs.
  9. Give your spouse space when needed.

Two of my Aunts, Agnes and Phyllis, who continue to give me advice.

A Brief Intermission

Dear Friends,

Even the most refined tables need a moment to reset, and so does this space. I’ll be taking a short pause until June 2nd as I fine-tune, refresh, and elevate things behind the scenes. Think of it as a well-mannered intermission; good etiquette includes knowing when to step back and return better than before.

Thank you for your patience. I look forward to welcoming you back with elegance, fresh insights, and timeless tips!

With gratitude and grace,
